Gadgetology: Mobile Device Terms & Conditions

By purchasing a mobile device from Gadgetology, you agree to the following specific terms. These terms apply only to handset purchases and are separate from our standard accessory policies.

1. Independent Reseller Status

Gadgetology is an independent seller of pre-owned and refurbished devices. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or an authorized partner of Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi (Redmi), or ZTE. All brand names and logos are used for identification purposes only.

 

2. 90-Day (3-Month) Limited Hardware Warranty

Every phone sold by Gadgetology includes a 3-month limited hardware warranty starting from the date of delivery.

  • What is Covered: Internal hardware failures (e.g., faulty charging port, speaker failure, microphone issues, or spontaneous battery defects).

  • What is NOT Covered: * Physical Damage: Any cracks, dents, or screen damage caused after delivery.

    • Liquid Damage: Any exposure to water or moisture.

    • Software/User Error: Issues caused by "jailbreaking," unofficial software updates, or forgotten passwords/iCloud locks.

    • Third-Party Repairs: Any attempt to repair the device at another shop voids this warranty immediately.


3. 14-Day "Change of Mind" Return Policy

In accordance with UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have 14 days from the date of receipt to return the phone for a refund if you change your mind.

  • Condition: The phone must be returned in the exact same condition it was sent, with all Gadgetology security seals intact.

  • Strict Deadline: After 14 days, we do not accept returns for "change of mind." After this point, only hardware faults covered under the 3-month warranty will be eligible for repair or exchange.


4. Data Privacy & Battery Health

  • Data: All devices are professionally wiped. Gadgetology is not responsible for any data lost during a warranty repair; customers are advised to back up their devices regularly.

  • Battery: Pristine (Open Box) devices are guaranteed to have 100% battery capacity. All other grades are tested to ensure peak performance.

 

Gadgetology Device Grading Guide

To ensure you know exactly what you are buying, Gadgetology uses a strict grading system. Every device is professionally inspected and data-wiped.

Grade Condition Description Visual Appearance
Pristine (Open Box) Brand New / Never Used. The device may have been handled for inspection, but the original inner paper or plastic protective film is still attached to the screen/body. Typically includes original factory protective film or inner paper packaging
Grade A (Mint) Like New. The device shows almost no signs of use. It has passed all functional tests and looks nearly brand new. No visible scratches to the naked eye at 20cm.
Grade B (Excellent) Lightly Used. The device is 100% functional but may show minor signs of previous ownership. May have very faint micro-scratches on the screen or casing.
Grade C (Good) Value for Money. Fully functional but shows clear signs of daily use. Perfect for those who want the tech at a lower price. Visible scratches or minor scuffs on the frame or back. No cracks.

 

How to make a claim:

If your device develops a hardware fault within your 3-month warranty period, please email us at enquiries@gadgetology.co.uk or visit us at our Slough location with your order receipt. We will inspect the device and arrange a repair or replacement.
