Apple’s Biggest 2026 Launch Is Here: iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone Duo, Watch Ultra 4 & More

Apple has officially revealed its latest generation of devices, and this year’s launch brings much more than the usual annual upgrades.
The new lineup includes the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, the all-new foldable iPhone Duo, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5.
From a foldable iPhone to major camera, performance, health and audio upgrades, here are some of the most interesting announcements from Apple’s September 2026 event.
iPhone 18 Pro & iPhone 18 Pro Max – A Bigger Focus on Camera, Performance and AI
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max continue Apple’s premium Pro lineup, powered by the new A20 Pro chip.
One of the biggest upgrades is the new 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, giving users greater control when taking photos in different lighting conditions. Apple has also introduced a smaller Dynamic Island and improved thermal management through its next-generation vapour chamber system.
The iPhone 18 Pro is equipped with a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, while the Pro Max increases this to 6.9 inches.
Apple is also putting greater emphasis on artificial intelligence with iOS 27, Apple Intelligence and Siri AI.
The new Pro models are available in Black, Silver, Glacier and the striking new Burgundy finish, with storage options extending all the way to 2TB.
For UK customers, pre-orders begin on 12 September, with general availability from 18 September.
iPhone Duo – Apple Finally Goes Foldable
Perhaps the most exciting announcement of the event is the completely new iPhone Duo.
This is Apple's first foldable iPhone, introducing a completely different form factor to the iPhone family.
When closed, iPhone Duo has a compact 5.4-inch outer Super Retina XDR display. Open it up and you get a huge 7.6-inch inner display – the largest display Apple has ever offered on an iPhone.
Both displays feature technologies including ProMotion and Always-On, while Apple has designed a precision hinge to allow the device to open, close and hold different positions.
The Duo is powered by the same A20 Pro chip found in the iPhone 18 Pro models and uses an advanced thermal management system.
Even more interestingly, Apple says Apple Pencil USB-C support is coming later this year, potentially making the Duo particularly useful for notes, drawings, documents and productivity.
Pre-orders for iPhone Duo are scheduled to begin on 16 October, with availability from 23 October.
Apple Watch Series 12 – Health Becomes Even More Important
Apple has also introduced the Apple Watch Series 12, with health and fitness taking centre stage.
The watch introduces Apple's new Health Sensing System alongside the new S11 chip. It provides higher-frequency heart-rate and heart-rate-variability measurements and introduces a new readiness score designed to help users better understand their body's condition for the day.
Apple is also expanding its intelligence features across the Watch, while maintaining familiar functionality such as workout tracking, sleep tracking, heart-health notifications, ECG, Fall Detection and Emergency SOS.
Series 12 comes in several aluminium and titanium finishes, with Apple also introducing ceramic options.
It is available to pre-order now, with availability beginning 18 September.
Apple Watch Ultra 4 – Built for Adventure
For people who want something tougher, Apple has announced the Apple Watch Ultra 4.
The Ultra remains focused on sports, outdoor activities and adventure, but now benefits from the same new Health Sensing System and S11 chip.
A particularly useful improvement is battery performance. Apple says the Ultra 4 can track outdoor workouts for up to 45 hours, while also offering advanced GPS and the new readiness features.
For hikers, runners, cyclists and people who simply prefer the larger and more rugged Ultra design, the Ultra 4 looks like an interesting upgrade.
AirPods 5 – Smarter Noise Cancellation Without Going Pro
The AirPods 5 also received some significant improvements.
Apple says the new generation provides improved audio quality through a redesigned acoustic architecture and next-generation Adaptive EQ.
One of the headline additions is improved Active Noise Cancellation in an open-ear design. Apple says the new system can remove up to 50% more external noise compared with AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation.
AirPods 5 also integrate more closely with Siri AI and support features including Live Translation, making them increasingly useful beyond simply listening to music and taking calls.
Two versions are available, including an option with a wireless charging case and additional features.
Which New Apple Product Is the Most Exciting?
There are plenty of upgrades across Apple's 2026 lineup, but the iPhone Duo is undoubtedly one of the biggest changes to the iPhone in years.
Meanwhile, photographers and power users may be more interested in the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, fitness users have new reasons to look at Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, and AirPods 5 bring several premium-style features to Apple's mainstream earbuds.
The next few weeks should be particularly interesting as these products begin reaching customers.
